Architectural Gutter System for Modern and Traditional Homes
Duragutter is an extruded aluminum architectural gutter system designed for buildings that require high-performance without sacrificing appearance. Available in modern and traditional profiles, the system provides clean lines and exceptional durability.
What is an Architectural Gutter System?
On high-end projects, gutters are too often treated as an afterthought -- something for the builder to resolve in the field. When architects try to incorporate gutters as a design element, they are forced to rely on complex, site-fabricated solutions that require the coordination of many trades.
Duragutter was designed to solve this problem. As an architectural gutter system, every element is carefully considered and engineered as part of a coordinated assembly. The gutter profile, its interface with other building components, and its finish are all engineered to achieve performance and a high architectural standard.
Extruded aluminum allows us to achieve unique architectural forms and precise details that are not possible with gutters made from thin materials like sheet metal or copper.

Why an Architectural Gutter System?
Existing gutter options often detract from the design intent with clunky visible connectors, flimsy materials, and a lack of integration with other building elements.
Our 12 gutter profiles and dedicated design-support team enable architects and builders to achieve the details they want, instead of being limited by off-the-shelf solutions. Duragutter is an engineered system that enables a high degree of customization and flexibility while standardizing installation practices.

Why an Extruded Aluminum Gutter System?
Extrusion is a manufacturing process in which a cylinder of metal is heated and pushed through a die at high pressure to form a desired shape. Aluminum is strong while remaining very lightweight, even at the 1/8" plus wall thickness of our gutters. Extruded aluminum offers numerous benefits:
Strength and Durability
-
Extruded aluminum gutters won't be dented by snow, ice, or someone slamming a ladder against them. In fact, watch us drive a truck over one!
-
Exceptional rigidity eliminates the need for hanging brackets that K-style or half-round gutters have.
-
Factory powder-coat finish offers longevity even in harsh coastal environments.
Bold Shapes and Clean Lines
-
Unlike sheet metal which "oil cans" and appears wavy, extruded aluminum forms perfectly straight lines that enhance the contours of a building.
-
The extrusion process allows us to create bold shapes like the wedge and knife-edge that are not possible with thinner materials like copper or sheet metal.
-
Custom dies can be created for specific projects. The limit is your imagination!
Engineered Components
-
Channels inside the gutter enable our patented hidden connector system. This eliminates the need for visible fasteners and joint connectors, and indexes miters so they come out perfectly every time.
-
Our custom leafguard and integral flashing lock into the gutter grooves for easy installation and removal.
-
We supply all parts and accessories for your project, and can manufacture custom parts if necessary to achieve a specific design goal.

Architectural Gutters for Modern and Traditional Homes
Ranging from exact replicas of traditional wood gutters to bold modern shapes and hidden gutter systems, our profiles allow architects and builders to integrate gutters into the design.
Our modern gutter systems offer crisp mitered corners and clean architectural lines. From striking, angular shapes to square and rectangular profiles to trough gutters, Duragutter can accomplish any modern detail.
Our traditional gutter systems are designed to replicate historic gutter details on finely detailed homes. We have the profiles -- and the know-how -- to accomplish details like gutter-to-rake miters and radius gutters.
Applications
An architectural gutter system is well suited for a range of projects, from contemporary residences to institutional buildings and historic restorations. Because gutters are a critical defense against water intrusion and a highly visible architectural element, their design should be considered early in the project.
Incorporating the gutter and downspout details into the design ensures that they support the broader architectural composition rather than detracting from it.
